Dog Mauling
I dont believe it was fair for Marjorie Knoller to get convicted of 2nd degree murder because it was not her fault that the dogs attacked Dianne. It was not intentional. I believe that manslaughter was more fair because she has had past interactions with others and noticed her dogs being somewhat viscous even though she denies it. I feel that the way she spoke to the media and tried to blame Dianne Whipple for her own death didnt have a postive impact on her trial because it was not Diannes fault.

I agree Amanda. I also feel that the fact that Marjorie and Robert never apologized for the death of Dianne and never said anything to make them look sorry for her made everything worse. I feel it made them look more guilty. Also, as Mr. Stewart said, public opinion does matter. Before they began getting questioned about Dianne people didn't really like them, but then after not apologizing or being sympathetic towards her death, it made the public's opinion about them worse than it was before.
