Phones

I feel that a big problem that our generation is starting to come to is that were becoming too dependent of the technology being made specifically looking at how attached people are to there cellphones and social media outlets(Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snap chat etc). Theres literally someone being kidnapped in this video and the only things these bystanders could do was record it laugh in the video and make funny remarks like "put him in the coffin" and then upload it to a social media outlet like Facebook. He really didn't do anything to even try to help and I feel like more and more often people just watch other people get hurt, put in danger and record it instead of trying to help or even calling the police to report it or something. Like I see people putting a snap chat after they just crashed, like who does that shit, Id be calling my insurance. I feel like next someones house is going to be getting robbed and instead of calling the cops there gonna just snap chat it and be like "oh shit my house is getting robbed, what should I do"

  1. I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say that I'm not one of those people that depend on their phone, because I am one of them. I depend too much on technology especially how today we can be anywhere and still be connected to social media. I'm one of those people that right away when I wake up, the first thing I do is refresh all my social medias to see what people are up to. I'm sometimes late to the places I'm supposed to be at because I'm glued to my phone just to see new things on my feeds. I think that today it's normal for everyone to be engrossed on their phones to be connected to social media. However using your phone to take a photo or a video in this case to help out someone that needs it it's truly (I don't know how to put in words) but unacceptable. It's also can be a eye opener to others because it exposes how much people are willing to record something and for it later viewed by millions instead of helping the kid out in this case. Also one thing that truly pisses me of about people that are so glued to social media, this happens mostly on snapchat where they are driving and singing along with songs and recording themselves too, like really pay attention to the road that's why so many accidents happen. Anyways, great post Cristian!

  2. I totally agree. Of course, I have a phone and social media accounts too, but I feel like the fact that people are willing to catch a video of someone needing help instead of physically helping them is just out of pocket. I've been seeing that a lot, and although watching the videos can be entertaining, it makes me question what people would do if they saw me in danger. I just think about how the person being tapped must feel knowing they could be helped if the person just put away their phone and stepped in.
