Mountain View Bomb Threat

I don't know if you guys heard about it but yesterday afternoon, CVS Pharmacy was closed down because there was a suspicious device that people assumed was a bomb. The place was evacuated and the Bomb Squad arrived at the scene to investigate the device. Although it was confirmed it wasn't a bomb, it's scary to know that there was actually a bomb threat to Mountain View. People are now very cautious since there has been attacks around the world. I've only seen these kind of events on television but never would imagine it would be around where I live. It' sad to know people aren't safe anywhere anymore. What do you guys think about the bomb threat?

  1. I think that it is outrageous that there was a bomb threat in Mountain View. I could never imagine it happening so close to this area. I think since there have been many bomb attacks around the world like Paris the most recent people seem to be more cautious about it.

  2. Its crazy to realize that even WE are in danger. I never thought that we would someday be victims of some type of threat. This issues are closer that we think, we should take more percussion as a community.

  4. Interesting post about the current levels of stress we have been in as a nation ever since the Paris Attacks brought on by terrorist group, Isis, Claudia. Honestly, I think that, more than anything, we have already been terrorized as a nation due to the amount of panic, worry, and stress that has been brought on. Big social events and even the smallest of gun sightings have completely turned the tables for all of us and has created so much chaos and paranoia

  6. Wow, I did not hear about this until now. It is really sad to think that these scary things are happening in our backyards. I agree with Andrea that the tables have turned and there is constant chaos and paranoia, but I don't think it's because of small gun sightings. The Paris attacks were compared to 9/11, in the sense that Paris had never experienced anything like it. We need to come together not only as a country, but the whole world needs to try to figure out how to prevent these acts of hate and destruction.

  7. I think this just goes to show how fear can honestly exist anywhere. Mountain View is typically seen as a rather affluent area, compared to most places, but to see something as puzzling and fear inducing as a bomb threat, in our own community, is staggering at the very least.

  8. Yesterday, my mom was talking to me about the common terrorist attacks occurring. I agree it was scary to know and think about that this could be happening anywhere and to anyone. Recently, in San Bernardino the couple bombarded a hospital, killing 14 innocent people and hospitalizing many more. It was thought that the couple was not directly told by Isis to encounter in the attack but later the woman posted a Facebook post honoring Isis. By the post it made it seem that she was motivated by Isis or their work had prompted her to do this. An inspection in their home proved them to be in the hands of bombs and many other unauthorized guns. Obama admitted to tightening gun control but still no really way on how they will actually achieve this.

  9. Its always crazy to hear about something that can happen so close to home because we would, obviously, never even think that something like this could happen near us. This connects back to the point that we should never say never because the universe acts in weird ways and as soon as we say never, the event happens or we are more susceptible to the event happening to us.
