Terrorism

The Paris shooting has been devastating especially since I do know people who almost attended the concert but canceled last minute. But it's the terrorists what I want to talk about. Why on earth do they do these kind of actions. Well one answer is that they want to terrorize the world and one way is through the media because on one hand the media will get lots of readers if a terrorist posts a video consisting an execution or a shocking statement. I'm not saying the media is responsible for terrorism, but it would be nice if terrorist groups didn't make it onto national television. Another issue is how countries like France and the US are handling the terror groups. After the attacks, France issued one if its largest bombing sprees on ISIS destroying a training camp and bomb storage. Although these are important cornerstones to the ISIS group, that is not enough. We may be able to kill the leader of a terrorist group but that doesn't mean that another leader will not be put in place. If you really want to stop them, how about cutting their supply line of guns and bombs as well as their funding from many wealthy people living in the Emirates. ISIS also controls many oil plants of which some countries buy from. They have smart strategies and its up to the western and modern countries to find a alternative to nonstop bombing killing civilians in the process.

  1. I agree on the part of the media because people get inspired by watching the news, movies, commercials, etc on doing the same thing. For example, the Columbine high school who were inspired by the movie ¨Duck! The Carbine High Massacre.¨ Its great to know what's going around the world but they should limit on what they are showing to the world.

    1. When news companies publish on social media about terrorist activity, i do read many comments asking why the media is mosting this.

    2. I would have to disagree on this because for one we need the media to inform us about what is happening all around the world. If it was not for the media we would not know about the Mountain View bomb threat as Claudia referred to in her blog, about San Bernadino or even Paris, if it was not for the media this conversation would most likely be nonexistent. Also, it could be possible that the media can inspire some people, but limiting the media won't stop any further attacks, people will find their inspiration some place else. 9/11 did not happen because terrorists were inspired from previous Fox news casts.

  2. I find your evidence and insight very intriguing. I think that the talk about ISIS and other radicalized groups is an infectious disease, and we need to take more formative measures in halting their advancement. I believe that we need to make sure that the settlements surrounding ISIS and their region. I also believe the U.S. needs to own up to the idea that ISIS grew out of the Iraq War, and move forward with the idea of aiding other countries trying to stop ISIS.

    1. Another suggestion would be getting the people educated in these countries. They go to these groups because they are desperate and need tomething to believe in.Their environment is certainly not helping them. There is a reason why refugees are fleeing.
