Internet Impact
Growing up in this generation, the internet has always been the source to hear the "breaking news" or the new headline. After watching Raphael's documentary I learned that people on average spend 47 days per year on the internet. To me, this is concerning because that adds up to 47 days people spend inside staring at a screen running the risks of arthritis to the wrist. There is too much to do on the internet nowadays with all the different forms of social media which becomes so time consuming for some people. I believe if we cutdown on our Internet, we will all begin to live more social lives instead of being glued to a screen all the time.

Chad, I agree with you. Although technology definitely has its benefits, I think it wastes so much time. As Los Altos High School transitions into using more technology, it frustrates me because there are always issues that follow. If the wifi does not work, we basically can get nothing done. The internet provides countless distractions. And I think there are so many different ways to learn besides behind a computer screen. Sometimes I find it nice to just put all my technology down and live life the way it was before emails, fb, google classroom, blogger, etc. The list goes on...
ReplyDeleteChad I totally agree with you. When I heard that number that 47 days per year are spent on the internet it was alarming. I just feel that we should try to get away from the internet for a certain amount of time every day.

ReplyDeleteAgreed Chad, more and more people are gaining access to the internet everyday and it's hard to tell if that's a good or bad thing. People need to use the internet for less aimless stuff.
ReplyDeleteWe would definitely benefit a lot more if we cut down our internet use, Chad. I could not agree more on this. I feel like the internet also does more harm than good. Like yes, we are able to access much more information and learn about what else is going on in the world but then again, it is sad that we choose to spend our lives inside rather than just enjoying outside. The less internet use the less wrist arthritis too!

ReplyDeleteI agree. The thing that's concerning is that if a person uses less social media and less internet in general, it becomes more difficult for them to be social. It's hard to talk to people when you're not in the loop about things. It's hard to make plans when you don't see events.
