The Hunting Ground

The documentary we are watching in small group, Global, really puts into perspective the terrors that can come from what is often advertised as the land of opportunity. College is certainly a dangerous place, and thus a ground for predators. I find it also very important that we are seeing this as seniors, because I think all men and women should be educated on the dangers of sexual assault, especially since we are off to college very soon. I think that it is a correct assertion that the universities acted in a way to curb the students' civil rights, because every student, and every human on this Earth deserves the right to have their voice heard and story told. It is truly frightening to see the institutions that promote learning, diversity, equality, and collaboration, brush off such a horrid thing as sexual assault. What does this mean for our society? If you guys would like, discuss that last question in the comments. How did this documentary make you view universities, or perhaps the people that run them?
