Free Ke$ha

Over break, I'm sure lots of you saw or read something about Ke$ha. If you haven't, I will fill you in.
Over the past decade, Ke$ha has been sexually and emotionally abused by a songwriter/producer, Dr. Luke, who Ke$ha is in contract with through Sony. She hasn't made music in the last few years because she refuses to work with him, and I assume that she doesn't want him to profit off of her (which I think is reasonable) and she has to complete six albums with him before her contract is up. She took her case to court hoping that a Judge would annul the contract, but unfortunately she wasn't showed any compassion. Reading a follow up article, there was a quote from the Judge saying that he didn't understand what her problem was and that there wasn't any evidence to prove it. Upon googling "Ke$ha," pictures of her crying, devastated in the courthouse while the Judge was reading the ruling which makes me doubt that she would be making this up.
How is it that Chris Brown, who has been known for beating Rihanna, free to make music and continue on with his life -while Ke$ha is forced to work with her abuser and isn't free to leave and continue on with hers?
How can a judge tell a person (man or woman) that they weren't raped?
A classic case of he said she said, how would you handle this case if you were the judge?

  1. I've been seeing this going around lately too and its honestly disgusting that Kesha wasn't allowed to leave the contract. She just wanted to end the contract and I don't believe she press charges on Dr. Luke. Its sad that women are still not being treated equally. Rape victims shouldn't be told by someone if they were raped or not.

  2. I didn't know anything about the case but that is wrong. People should have the freedom to work with who they want and especially to leave a contract if they are being abused.

  3. What amazes me is that Zayn Malik was able to get out of his contract and go solo because he was 'unhappy' but Kesha can't get away from her abuser. It doesn't make any sense.
This situation is just super sketch because it just proves that victims of abuse can't win against their abuser especially if their abuser has some sort of power, authority or money.

  4. I saw an interview of Kesha and she was crying saying how she didnt want to work with him anymore, but the sad thing is she wasnt shown no sympathy, although her purpose of exposing this issue was to get out of the contract rather then sympathy, she still didnt get that.I think its terrible she wasnt able to escape that espically considering she does this music thing for HERSELF and should be able to stop whenever she wants.

  6. Recently Ke$ha was finally told she was not allowed to perform at the Billboard Music awards because her label would not sign the contract. After a ton of backlash, they finally resigned the contract. It is absurd that Ke$ha is at the disposal of her label.
