Why do people believe in conspiracy theories?

After seeing how some people genuinely believed that the Jews were responsible for 9/11 attacks, I started to wonder why people would believe such a thing. Personally, I think a general ignorance or lack of understanding of how certain systems work would contribute to believing conspiracies. For example believing that 9/11 could actually have been caused by explosions in the buildings, that jet fuel couldn't melt steel beams. According to the New York times and Time magazine featured psychologists, people who believe on conspiracy theory tend to believe many others. And people buy conspiracies when they feel like they have less control over their lives.

  1. I believe that when people don't have facts about something, the things they hear from others sources of media become their thoughts. It's funny how it works.

  2. I had done a lot of research on why people believe in conspiracies and I came across that people believe in conspiracies for 2 reasons, Its easier to go against the government then go with it, and its also mind corrupting when everyone around you is believing in conspiracies. If everyone around you feeds you information about a certain topic, you start to believe it more and more. There is no way to be sure if these conspiracy is true or not.
