Weed and College

We all know that Colorado has legalized marijuana. With that, they have collected millions of dollars in taxes on marijuana. A report just came out that Colorado will now use some of that tax money to send students to college. It was said that college bound students will each receive a 1,000 scholarship. I think that this is actually a great deal because its aiding kids go to college. Regardless of where the money is coming from, its an amazing opportunity for these kids to be able to get an extra 1,000 for college. I would find it hard to believe if anybody would oppose to this because its free money no matter what. This is one of the many pluses that could happen if marijuana was legalized.

  1. Interesting post, I agree with you that marijuana tax could be more helpful than we would think. As more states will probably legalize the use of recreational and medicinal marijuana, the tax dollars will be rolling in. That money could be used for $1000 or even bigger scholarships. There is a lot of potential in doing so.

  2. I agree. Legal marijuana is looked at by many people in a negative way. However, there are many perks, and it has proven to be a huge tax moneymaker in Colorado.

  4. It's very interesting how the money is being used to promote the future of students. I think this is a very positive light for the legislation, and this is one way people could view legalisation. I wonder why more states are so reluctant to legalize marijuana, because it truly is a huge moneymaker. If only we viewed the legalisation of marijuana, not as a burden, but rather, a solution.
