Miss Representation

We are currently watching a movie called Miss Representation about how the media portrays the image of a woman. It's something that I always see on Television or on movies.I don't think I've seen a show or movie in a long time where a woman is in power or they are in the spotlight for something. They are always portrayed as the emotional and weak one while the men are usually portrayed as macho and not as emotional. I think it's because people don't really want to see a woman in an action movie as the main protagonist. Its apparently what the market wants. People in our society don't want a woman in a powerful role because its something that won't sell or only would sell to a small population.
