"Professional Athletes & Crimes" Reaction

Cole's documentary was informative. It is evident that he put a lot into research. I remember reading an article awhile back about how many professional athletes have a criminal record, but I never really look too much into the topic. What was surprising to me is that 39% of athletes arrested are convicted with serious crimes. Cole also brings up the point of how 1 in 3 sexual assault in college are done by athlete; I thought this connected really well with the documentary we had to watch in small group. It is very disturbing to know that these athletes get off easily. A few game suspensions, and they're back to the playing field. I think that we should start making these athletes serve the punishment they should be given like any other people, because to many people, these athletes are role models. And teaching young kids that if you are an professional athletes you can get away with your crimes is not okay.
