Should It Be Against The Rules For College Athletes To Receive Money?

A topic that has been debated for years, and still the answer is unknown.  Should college athletes be paid for their contributions to an universities athletic program.  Athletes bring in millions of dollars for universities through sports, but they don't get a paycheck in return.  Are these kids in college to get paid or to get an education?  I think college athletes should not be paid for two major reasons.  First off the price of college is unreal these days, but if a player receives a full ride scholarship for college, that could be up to $200,000 of education costs.  This takes away any student debt they may have after college and supports the families greatly, especially for lower class income athletes.  Along with all the gear and equipment a player receives, a player is basically being paid already.  The other main con for paying these athletes is because it will turn into buying players instead of players choosing the best school for them.  We already see buying athletes in the pros, we don't need to take away the main reason college sports are better than pro sports, and that is the pride.  Pride and passion is what makes college sports.  Should college athletes be paid?
