Warriors
The Golden State Warriors just had the best regular season in NBA history and broke multiple records through the year, both personally and as a team. The Bay Area was electric with support and excitement for the Warriors. I have been a big fan growing up, back when they were awful, watching with my brother and hoping one day we could see them actually make a legit playoff run. It is amazing watching a team develop over time and become great. In order to become great, a lot of additions were made, just like fans. Do you feel the Bay Area is bandwagon fans for their teams or are they loyal and faithful?

To answer the question you posed, I think that there is a solid mix between Warriors bandwagon fans and Warriors fans who are "real, loyal, and faithful." I think the amount of Warriors bandwagon fans has recently increased due to the fact the Warriors have been performing better and because they are in the playoffs right now.
ReplyDeleteI feel like whenever a team gets good then they are going to get their fair share of bandwagon fans. I also think the way that the Warriors play and how "new school" they are is extremely attractive to people and they want to root for the Warriors.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like half and half. When the new Niners stadium was built, there were a lot of new fans at the stadium and represented around the bay area. Don't get me started about the Warriors, their fan base has multiplied each year since they've been making playoffs again.
ReplyDeleteI think its just kind of inevitable to avoid band wagon fans especially with a team like the warriors. I think typically people, mostly guys that are into sports are obviously less of band wagon fans usually, but it's the girls that all they know about the warriors is steph curry that are the bandwagon fans. It's interesting to me how many bandwagon fans there are even outside of California. I see my friends from Pennsylvania in snapchats wearing warriors jersey's and it throws me off, but the warriors are an incredible team so we have seen a lot of bandwagon fans recently.
